It may be hard to think of summer cycling with the North wind sculpting snow drifts in the front yard, but the season will be here before we know it! Registration for Wolseley Wheels will begin early in February. Information will be posted on this website and anyone on the mailing list will get an email.
Wolseley Wheels rides on Tuesdays and Thursdays in many areas of the City of Winnipeg and Birds Hill Park. A park pass is required for Birds Hill as well as many of the weekend races. Thursday’s ride will be at Bison Butte. Bison Butte is in the Fort Whyte Alive complex. Fort Whyte closes at 8pm, so we can’t park there. We will meet on the East side of Cabela’s in the South part of the parking lot. From there, we will ride to Bison Butte. The youngest riders will spend most of their time in the Fort Whyte trails, as Bison Butte is too advanced for them.
Tuesday, June 6 Ride has been changed from CMU to St Norbert Trails.
See you there!
Conditions at King’s Park are not suitable for riding this week, so we are meeting at CMU on Tuesday.
The weather turned out perfect for our ride Tuesday night! Thanks to Bruce Berry of Almost Urban Vegetables who allows us to ride across his farm to access the great trails. He took these photos for us.
Tuesday, May 2 we will ride the St Norbert trails instead of Westview Park. Park in the parking lot of the St Norbert Heritage Centre. We will also be riding at this location next week, May 9.
The weather has finally turned warmer, but it still cools off quickly with cloud cover, so an extra layer is advisable.
I am looking for Road Caravan Drivers (car & Motto) who might be interested in support our Canada Games Road Test event on May 13 in preparation for the Canada Games Road Events Aug 6-13.
